We all know who he is and I think that most of quite like and respect his analysis. Most of us have also observed that he doesn't really have the deepest knowledge of officiating.
I'm pretty sure he lives along the M3 corridor so is quite local to a bunch of us southerners.
I was thinking that we might want to invite him to a Thames Valley meeting, ideally before Channel 4's coverage of the NFL season finishes.
Any opinions - either for or against?

Good idea if he'd go for it.

I think it is an excellent idea. If he does agree, publicise it because members from further afield may wish to attend.

He was the guest commentator at Britbowl XX and much better than that incomprehensible guy on Sunday at Britbowl this year.
However, as you say, his understanding of the college game is not as good as it could be - evidenced on Eurosport's coverage of Notre Dame games.
Obviously you want to get him along to your local association's meeting, so really its down to you TV guys.

Understandable, considering that his main job at the moment is covering the NFL, and that he has to attempt to do live commentary from TV pictures that he has no control over.
