You might want to take a look at www.therefzone.co.uk/ - it's currently only aimed at rugby union officials, but I met the two guys today who set it up and they are interested in expanding to other sports, including ours. Registration for the Referee Development Programme (which gives access to all their videos and training materials) is currently FREE (but only for a limited time). Currently you can gain access to modules 1-9; modules 10-12 will be released over the coming 3 months. I would particularly like your feedback on their materials on tactical preparation (which is what they call nutrition and lifestyle), physical preparation and mental preparation, since they might be of direct relevance to us. Thanks Jim.

Did anyone else have a look at this?

I had a look, I think anything that helps officials be in the right frame of mind and physically prepared for a game can only help. I remember Ben touching on this subject as part of his breakout session at the convention, as a rookie myself the mental and physical preparation is the bit that isn't really covered in the early stages of induction and maybe this needs to be addressed. I have a noticed a big difference in the capability of the players in the seniors compared to the uni games and I am getting a good work out on the wing as a result!!

Probably should be though! I think Ben made some great points at the convention that we should all take seriously!
