BIG NEWS: I'm excited to announce that tomorrow, myself and three of my friends will attempt to break the World Record for Longest Marathon Playing a Boardgame, at Bus Stop Toy Shop, Largs, Scotland. The current World Record stands at just under 54 hours but we're all gunning to go past that mark. Of course, we're doing it all for a good cause. We have decided to have a collection for charity for the Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) while doing this record attempt and we have a JustGiving page available for that good cause. We have secured a great agreement with the manufacturers of the board game we're going to play, in that they will donate several of their games to CHAS, so that the games can be played by the kids in the hospices. I hope you'll all support us in our efforts.

Good luck - what game are you playing? Trivial Pursuit where the question when anyone gets to the middle is ALWAYS Art & Literature?

Good luck - what game are you playing? Trivial Pursuit where the question when anyone gets to the middle is ALWAYS Art & Literature? We're going to play a german-style board game called Small World. Published by Days of Wonder, who have generously agreed to donate several of their games to CHAS to use in their hospices.

Update: Pending verification from Guinness, we broke the record by about 45 minutes. We had hoped to play one more game after the last one, but we were all absolutely shattered and wanted to go home.
The donation page at the moment sits at just under £1945 with a £1000 donation from the company that publishes the game, and that donation was revealed to us during the record attempt by the co-founder of the company, live from a games conference in the US, where he called us during a break and wished us all luck. That was pretty great of them.
